How Both Presidential Candidates Simply Don’t Understand How to Earn Trust

When you are told something by any Politian – do you instantly believe what they are saying is true? Let’s be real for the next 500 or so words. In any election year the job of a Politian is to scare you into believing that the world is spinning out of control, their opponent is the person to blame and if you elect them – magically everything will be all better and you’ll be better off than you were in the previous 4 years.

If you’re feeble minded you certainly might believe this – based on the constant spinning of bull in last night’s Presidential Debate from Hofstra University in New York.

This is the problem with any political debate is that it is no debate what-so-ever. It was simply a quarrel – where two people constantly attack each other instead of focusing on the issue at hand. According to the National Forensic League – which is the official organization who oversees inter-scholastic debate and speech events for High School competitors across the United States, there are three basic things that any person judging a debate should consider before rendering their verdict.
  • Note when a specific argument has been dropped. One side may bring up a weak point, but if the other side does not refute it, that argument has been dropped. In that case, the "point" goes to the team who used the argument, however weak it may seem.

  • Evaluate evidence. As debaters speak, they should cite the sources they are using.

  • Identify any fallacies. Fallacies are arguments that sound logical, but really are not.
So, based on those simple rules – who won last night’s debate and earned your trust? The answer is – NOBODY. It was a draw and it proved to me and virtually every other independent voter that this year’s election is going to have to be a leap of faith. Yes, I’ll say it again – when you vote for President in 2012 – when the Mayan’s have predicted the world will end, your vote will be a leap of faith.

But is that a really good method when making an important decision? Absolutely not – but it’s the only choice you have based on the facts of today’s political climate.

In a perfect world a candidate would show up who would offer some of Obama’s visionary platform for a user friendly utopian-society where everybody is equal and has the same chance to succeed and Romney’s business savvy which has proven to stimulate growth and fix problems for the future.

This is so relevant to the SSL Certificate industry and entire computer industry as well. Many companies spend a lot of time telling you how wonderful and great their programs are without focusing on the potential issues which will impact tomorrow’s antivirus problems. With this being the case; which SSL Certificate company can you trust to deliver both a vision but also show you the facts on how they intend on delivering solid protection for any internet browsing?

In both politics and the real world we live in – voting for somebody who gives you a path towards the future, yet focuses on details of how to earn your trust to provide effect solutions for today’s critical problems.
